Why doesn't my listing's URL change when I edit the title?

Listing URLs are locked at creation so shared links never break

The URL Locks When You List

The link for your listing contains words from your title plus a unique ID. The word part is set the moment you publish, so editing the title later doesn't change the URL.

Why We Do It This Way

Once you've shared a link with a buyer, posted it in a Facebook group, or sent it in a text, that link should keep working. Changing the URL every time someone fixes a typo would break older shares and shuffle the listing around in search results.

The title shown on the page itself still updates instantly when you edit. Only the URL part stays put.

Need a Different URL?

If the item you're selling has changed enough that you want a fresh URL, the cleanest option is to relist it. Take the old listing down (or wait for it to sell), then create a new one.
