Stay in the Loop

When someone messages you on ShopBroker, we can send you an email so you never miss an important conversation.

How Notifications Work

Smart Timing

We don't spam you with emails for every message. Here's how it works:

Someone sends you a message

We wait 10 minutes

If you haven't read it by then, we send an email notification

This way, if you're actively chatting, you won't get flooded with emails. But if you step away, you'll know when someone's waiting for a reply.

What's in the Email?

Notification emails include:

  • Who messaged you

  • A preview of what they said

  • A direct link to respond

Turning Notifications On or Off

Via Profile Settings

Go to Your Shop or Profile

Find Notification Settings

Toggle Message notifications on or off

Changes save automatically

What Each Setting Means

Setting

What Happens

On

Receive email when you have unread messages after 10 minutes

Off

No email notifications - check the app manually

Best Practices

For Sellers

Keep notifications on so you don't miss buyer inquiries. Quick responses help close sales faster.

For Buyers

Turn on notifications if you're actively shopping. Turn them off once your purchase is complete if you don't need ongoing communication.

Checking Messages Without Email

Even with notifications off, you can always check for new messages:

Go to Your Shop

Tap the Messages tab

Unread conversations show a number badge

The badge in the navigation also shows your total unread count.

Troubleshooting

Not Getting Notifications?

  • Check if notifications are enabled in your settings

  • Verify the email on your account is correct

  • Check your spam/junk folder

  • Make sure at least 10 minutes have passed since the message

Getting Too Many Emails?

Turn off message notifications in your settings. You can always turn them back on later.
