Chat Directly With Sellers

Have questions about an item? Want to negotiate or coordinate pickup details? You can message any seller directly on ShopBroker.

How to Start a Conversation

From a Listing Page

Open any listing you're interested in

Find the seller information card

Tap "Message Seller"

Type your message and send

What You Can Do

  • Ask questions about condition, dimensions, or details not in the listing

  • Coordinate logistics for self-arranged pickups

  • Negotiate if the seller is open to offers

  • Get updates on when items might be available

Sellers Can Message You Too

Once you've purchased an item, the seller can reach out to you directly through in-app messaging. You might hear from them about:

  • Pickup coordination for self-arranged orders

  • Delivery details like packaging or timing

  • Questions about your order (address clarification, item specifics)

You'll find these conversations in your Messages tab, just like conversations you start.

Good to Know

You Need an Account

Both you and the seller must have ShopBroker accounts to message. Creating one is quick β€” just your email.

Privacy First

Your full name isn't shown. Messages display your first name and last initial only (like "Sarah T.").

One Conversation Per Listing

Each listing has its own conversation thread. Whether you or the seller starts the conversation, it all stays in one place. This keeps discussions organized β€” questions about one item stay separate from another.

Character Limit

Each message can be up to 1,000 characters - plenty of room for most questions.

Finding Your Messages

Find all your conversations in the Messages tab in My Shop (your personal dashboard):

Go to My Shop

Tap the Messages tab

See all your active conversations

Unread messages show a count badge so you know when someone's replied.

Tips for Better Responses

Be specific - "Is there any damage on the left side?" gets faster answers than "How's the condition?"

Be friendly - Sellers are real people. A quick "Hi!" goes a long way.

Check the listing first - Many questions might already be answered in the description or photos.
