Your Money is Protected

When you buy on ShopBroker, your payment is never at risk. Our system ensures you don't pay until you actually receive what you ordered.

How We Protect Your Payment

Unlike traditional marketplaces where your money goes straight to the seller, ShopBroker works differently:

Step 1: Authorization

When you complete checkout:

  • We verify your payment method has sufficient funds

  • A hold is placed on your card for the order total

  • No money actually leaves your account yet

  • The seller sees your order is confirmed

Step 2: Fulfillment

The seller prepares your item:

  • For delivery: They schedule pickup with our driver

  • For self-arranged: You coordinate a meeting

Step 3: Capture

Payment is only captured (actually charged) when:

  • Delivery orders: The driver confirms successful delivery

  • Self-arranged: You tap "Pay Seller" after receiving the item

If Things Go Wrong

At any point before capture:

  • The order can be cancelled

  • The hold on your card is released

  • You pay nothing

What This Means for You

You're Never Out of Pocket

Your money stays in your account until you have the item in hand. No chasing down sellers or worrying about not receiving what you paid for.

Sellers Can't Disappear

Since sellers don't receive payment until fulfillment is confirmed, they're motivated to complete the transaction properly.

Clear Process

You always know where your money is:

  • Pending hold: Order placed, awaiting fulfillment

  • Captured: Transaction complete, payment finalized

  • Released: Order cancelled, hold removed

Protection for Different Scenarios

Professional Delivery

Our Trexity drivers:

  • Are verified and insured

  • Handle items with care

  • Confirm delivery with photos when needed

  • Report issues immediately

Payment is captured only when the driver marks delivery complete.

Self-Arranged Pickup

You maintain control:

  • Meet in a public place

  • Inspect the item before confirming

  • Only release payment when satisfied

  • Walk away if something's wrong

The "Pay Seller" button is your final approval.

Time Limits

Payment authorizations have expiration windows:

  • 7 days for card payments (Stripe)

  • 29 days for PayPal

If a transaction isn't completed within this window:

  • The hold expires automatically

  • Contact support if you need to extend or resolve

Common Concerns

"What if the seller ships a rock instead of my laptop?"

For delivery orders, the driver handles and sees the item. Major discrepancies would be flagged. If something slips through, contact support immediately with evidence.

"What if the seller doesn't show up for pickup?"

Your payment hold remains in place. You can request cancellation and the hold will be released. The seller receives no payment.

"What if I forget to confirm pickup?"

For self-arranged orders, the hold eventually expires. Contact support to properly close the transaction.

"Is my card information safe?"

Yes. All payments go through Stripe or PayPal - both are industry-leading payment processors with bank-grade security. ShopBroker never sees your full card number.
