Understanding Delivery Fees

When you choose delivery on ShopBroker, a delivery fee is added to your order. Here's how it works.

Who Pays the Delivery Fee?

Buyers pay the delivery fee. It's added at checkout on top of the item price.

Sellers receive their full listing price minus the service fee - the delivery fee goes to the courier and doesn't affect seller payouts.

How Fees Are Calculated

Delivery fees depend on:

1. Distance

The route from seller to buyer affects the price:

  • Shorter distances = lower fees

  • Longer distances = higher fees

2. Item Weight

Heavier items generally have higher delivery fees due to handling requirements.

3. Demand & Timing

During busy periods or with limited driver availability, fees may adjust slightly.

Your Exact Fee

Delivery fees vary based on your specific order. Your exact fee is calculated and displayed at checkout based on the distance, item details, and current availability.

Seeing Your Fee

You'll see the exact delivery fee:

When you enter your address at checkout

Before you confirm payment

In your order confirmation

There are no hidden charges - the price shown is what you pay.

Why Does Delivery Cost This?

Your delivery fee covers:

  • Driver compensation for their time and fuel

  • Vehicle costs including insurance

  • Handling and care for your item

  • Tracking technology for real-time updates

  • Insurance coverage during transit

Our delivery partner provides professional, insured delivery.

Reducing Delivery Costs

Choose Nearby Sellers

Items from closer sellers have lower delivery fees.

Consider Self-Arranged

Skip the delivery fee entirely by choosing self-arranged pickup. You'll coordinate directly with the seller.

Combine Purchases (Future)

Buying multiple items from the same seller may offer delivery savings in the future.

No Delivery Fee for Self-Arranged

If you choose self-arranged pickup:

  • $0 delivery fee

  • You meet the seller directly

  • Payment protection still applies

  • Just coordinate the meetup

When You're Charged

Delivery fees are included in your payment authorization at checkout. They're captured along with the item price when delivery is confirmed.

Refunds and Delivery Fees

Order Cancelled Before Delivery

Full refund including delivery fee.

Delivery Failed (Not Your Fault)

Full refund including delivery fee.

Delivery Successful But Item Issues

Delivery fee typically not refunded (the delivery was completed). Item-related refunds are separate.

Checking Delivery Availability

If delivery isn't available to your address:

  • You'll see a message during checkout

  • Self-arranged pickup is offered instead

  • No delivery fee applies
