How Will Your Buyer Get the Item?

When creating a listing, you choose how buyers can receive their purchase. Understanding your options helps you make the right choice.

Your Options

Courier Delivery

Our verified couriers handle everything:

  • Courier comes to you for pickup (8am–8pm)

  • Delivers directly to buyer

  • Insured and tracked

  • You never meet the buyer

Self-Arranged Pickup

You meet the buyer directly:

  • Coordinate meeting time and place

  • Hand over the item in person

  • Payment is still protected through ShopBroker

Offer Both

Let buyers choose their preference. This gives flexibility and can lead to faster sales.

When to Choose Delivery

Great for:

  • High-value items (electronics, luxury goods)

  • Sellers who prefer not to meet strangers

  • Items that fit in a vehicle (under 35 lbs)

  • Buyers in the delivery service area

Benefits:

  • No personal meetups required

  • Professional handling

  • Insured transport

  • Delivery confirmation

Considerations:

  • You control when pickup happens (mark as ready when you're set)

  • Item must fit size/weight limits

  • Buyer pays delivery fee

When to Choose Self-Arranged

Great for:

  • Large or heavy items

  • Local sales with nearby buyers

  • Items outside delivery zones

  • Flexible scheduling

Benefits:

  • No delivery fee for buyer

  • Can happen on your schedule

  • Works for any item size

  • Buyer can inspect before completing purchase

Considerations:

  • Requires meeting a stranger

  • You handle the handoff

  • Must coordinate schedules

Setting Up Delivery

Two Delivery Options

ShopBroker offers two courier delivery options for your buyers:

Standard Delivery (always available)

  • On-demand pickup when you mark an item "Ready for Pickup"

  • Courier typically arrives within about 2 hours

  • Same-day delivery when dispatched early enough

  • No setup required — this is always active

Flex Delivery (optional, requires setup)

  • You schedule the pickup date and time window after a sale

  • Delivery typically same-day or next-day

  • Often lower rates for buyers (usually $3-5 less)

  • More pickup days = more Flex-eligible orders

Most sellers enable Flex to give buyers both options. The lower Flex rates often lead to more completed purchases.

Enable Flex Delivery

In your profile settings, set your Flex pickup days:

Go to Profile SettingsDelivery Settings

Toggle Flex pickup availability on

Select your available days (when a courier can schedule pickups)

Flex couriers pick up between 8am and 8pm on your selected days.

More Availability = Better Rates

Here's a tip: the more days you're available for Flex pickups, the better rates your buyers get. When you're flexible with pickup days, we can find lower-cost Flex delivery options — which means more buyers completing purchases.

What Buyers See

Buyers see a single delivery price at checkout. We automatically find them the best available rate based on your availability and their location. They don't choose between options — we handle that behind the scenes.

After a Sale: Your Next Steps

Once payment is secured, your fulfillment page shows the delivery type and a clear next step:

For Standard orders:

Tap Create Shipment — we'll confirm the current delivery rate and create your shipment

Print and attach the shipping label

Tap Ready for Pickup — a courier is dispatched and typically arrives within about 2 hours

For Flex orders:

Tap Schedule Delivery — pick a delivery date and time window from the available options

The shipment is created and scheduled in one step

Print and attach the shipping label — the courier will arrive during your selected window

If the delivery rate has changed since checkout, you'll see the updated rate before confirming. Rate decreases are applied automatically and the buyer is refunded the difference. Rate increases are shown to you for acknowledgment — the difference comes from your payout so the buyer is never charged more.

Setting Up Self-Arranged Pickup

When you enable self-arranged:

After payment is secured, use the "Message Buyer" button on the transaction page to coordinate

Choose a meeting location (public places recommended)

Buyer confirms receipt to release payment

Tips for Each Option

For Delivery

  • Package items securely

  • Mark "Ready for Pickup" when your item is packaged and you're available

  • Provide clear pickup instructions (apartment buzzer, etc.)

  • Include any accessories/cables with the item

For Self-Arranged

  • Meet in public, well-lit places

  • Bring a friend if you'd like

  • Have the item ready to show

  • Test electronics together if applicable

Changing After Listing

You can update fulfillment options anytime before a sale:

Open your listing

Edit fulfillment settings

Save changes

Once a buyer has checked out, the fulfillment method for that order is locked.

What Most Sellers Do

Many sellers offer both options to maximize their buyer pool. Buyers appreciate choice, and it often leads to faster sales.
