Getting Paid Made Simple

To receive payments on ShopBroker, you'll need to connect a payment account. You have two options: Stripe or PayPal. Most sellers choose Stripe, but you can connect whichever you prefer (or both).

This guide covers Stripe setup. See "Payment Provider Settings" for PayPal setup and switching between providers.

What Is Stripe?

Stripe is a secure payment platform used by millions of businesses worldwide. When you connect Stripe:

  • Buyers can pay with credit/debit cards

  • Payments go directly to your bank account

  • Everything is encrypted and secure

What You'll Need

Before starting, have these ready:

  • Your legal name (as it appears on your ID)

  • Date of birth

  • Home address

  • Bank account details (for deposits)

  • Phone number

  • Government-issued ID (for verification)

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Go to Your Dashboard

Log into ShopBroker and head to your profile settings. You'll see a "Payment Setup" or "Connect Stripe" section.

2. Choose Your Account Type

Select whether you're selling as:

  • Individual - Personal sales, no business registration

  • Business - You have a registered business

Most casual sellers choose Individual.

3. Complete Stripe's Onboarding

You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure form. Fill in:

  • Personal information

  • Business details (if applicable)

  • Bank account for deposits

4. Verify Your Identity

Stripe may ask you to:

  • Upload a photo of your ID

  • Take a selfie for verification

  • Confirm your phone number

This protects both you and buyers from fraud.

5. Return to ShopBroker

Once complete, you'll be redirected back to ShopBroker. Your account status will update to "Verified" once Stripe approves everything.

Verification Timeline

Most accounts are verified within minutes. Occasionally, Stripe needs more time to review. You'll get an email update either way.

Troubleshooting

Verification Failed? Double-check that your ID photo is clear and matches the name you entered.

Bank Account Issues? Make sure your account details are correct. Stripe sends a test deposit to verify.

Still Stuck? Reach out to our support team, and we'll help you get sorted.

After You're Verified

Once your Stripe account is verified:

  • You can create listings

  • Accept payments from buyers

  • View your earnings and payouts

Welcome to selling on ShopBroker!
