Getting Paid Made Simple

To receive payments on ShopBroker, you'll need to connect a payment provider. You can choose either Stripe Connect or PayPal Commerce Platform β€” whichever works best for you.

Choosing Your Payment Provider

You'll select one provider during setup. Here's a quick comparison:

ShopBroker's service fee is the same regardless of which provider you choose.

Option A: Setting Up Stripe Connect

What You'll Need

  • Your legal name (as it appears on your ID)

  • Date of birth

  • Home address

  • Bank account details (for deposits)

  • Phone number

  • Government-issued ID (for verification)

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Go to Your Dashboard Log into ShopBroker and head to your profile settings. You'll see a "Payment Setup" section.

2. Choose Stripe Select Stripe as your payment provider.

3. Choose Your Account Type Select whether you're selling as:

  • Individual β€” Personal sales, no business registration

  • Business β€” You have a registered business

Most casual sellers choose Individual.

4. Complete Stripe's Onboarding You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure form. Fill in your personal information, business details (if applicable), and bank account for deposits.

5. Verify Your Identity Stripe may ask you to upload a photo of your ID, take a selfie, or confirm your phone number. This protects both you and buyers from fraud.

6. Return to ShopBroker Once complete, you'll be redirected back to ShopBroker. Your account status will update to "Verified" once Stripe approves everything.

Most Stripe accounts are verified within minutes. Occasionally, Stripe needs more time to review. You'll get an email update either way.

Option B: Setting Up PayPal Commerce Platform

What You'll Need

  • A PayPal Business or Personal account

  • Your PayPal email address

  • Any verification PayPal requires for your account

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Go to Your Dashboard Log into ShopBroker and head to your profile settings. You'll see a "Payment Setup" section.

2. Choose PayPal Select PayPal as your payment provider.

3. Connect Your PayPal Account You'll be redirected to PayPal to authorize the connection. Log into your PayPal account and grant ShopBroker permission to process payments on your behalf.

4. Return to ShopBroker Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to ShopBroker. Your account status will update to show PayPal is connected.

Troubleshooting

Verification Failed? For Stripe, double-check that your ID photo is clear and matches the name you entered. For PayPal, make sure your PayPal account is in good standing.

Bank Account Issues? For Stripe, make sure your account details are correct β€” Stripe sends a test deposit to verify.
