Understanding Your Order Confirmation

What to expect after you complete your purchase

You've Placed Your Order

After completing checkout, you'll land on a confirmation page and receive a confirmation email. Here's what everything means.

Your Confirmation Page

Right after payment, you'll see:

  • Order number - Your unique ShopBroker transaction ID (save this for reference)

  • Item details - What you purchased and the price

  • Delivery information -- Delivery address and estimated date (for delivery orders)

  • Payment summary - Item price, delivery fee (if applicable), and total

Your Order Confirmation Email

Check your inbox (and spam folder, just in case) for an "Order Confirmed" email with:

  • Order summary and transaction ID

  • Seller information

  • Delivery date (if applicable)

  • A note that your payment is authorized (not charged yet) until the order is complete

Understanding Your Payment Status

Your payment goes through a few stages:

"Order Confirmed" (Funds Held)

When you see the "Order Confirmed" email, it means we've placed a hold on your payment method for the total amount. Your money isn't charged yet -- it's authorized and held by your payment provider until the order is complete (delivered or picked up).

"Payment Captured"

Once your order is complete (delivered or pickup confirmed), the payment is finalized and the seller receives their funds.

"Payment Released"

If you cancel before completion, we release the hold on your payment method. For card payments, this typically takes 5-10 business days to show on your statement. For PayPal, the hold is released immediately.

Tracking Your Order

Delivery Orders

You'll receive email and in-app updates as your delivery progresses. Notifications include:

  • "Delivery scheduled" -- when the seller schedules a delivery date and time window (Flex deliveries)

  • "Your item has been picked up" -- when the courier collects your item

  • "Courier is on the way" -- when they're heading to you

  • "Your item has been delivered" -- when delivery is complete

Self-Arranged Pickup

After you meet the seller and receive your item, you'll confirm receipt in your order details. This releases payment to the seller.
