Understanding Your Order Confirmation

What your ShopBroker order confirmation shows, what each payment status means, how orders with more than one item work, and what happens if a seller can't include an item (keep the rest or cancel the whole order).

You've Placed Your Order!

After completing checkout, you'll land on a confirmation page and receive a confirmation email. Here's what everything means.

Your Confirmation Page

Right after payment, you'll see:

  • Order number - Your unique ShopBroker transaction ID (save this for reference)

  • Item details - Everything you purchased and the price, with one line for each item when you've bought more than one from the same seller

  • Delivery information - Delivery address and estimated date (for delivery orders)

  • Payment summary - Item prices, the delivery fee (if you chose delivery), and your total. A multi-item delivery shows a single delivery line, since your whole order travels as one courier trip

Your Confirmation Email

Check your inbox (and spam folder, just in case) for an email with:

  • Order summary and transaction ID

  • Seller information

  • Delivery date (if applicable)

  • What to expect next

Understanding Your Payment Status

Your payment goes through a few stages:

"Payment Authorized"

We've placed a hold on your payment method for the total amount. Your money isn't charged yet, it's simply reserved.

"Payment Captured"

Once your order is complete (delivered or pickup confirmed), the payment is finalized and the seller receives their funds.

"Payment Released"

If you cancel before completion, we release the hold on your payment method. This typically takes 5-10 business days to show on your statement.

> Released is not the same as charged. A hold reserves money on your payment method without taking it. If part or all of your order does not go through, we release the hold and the funds free back up on their own.

Orders With More Than One Item

If you bought several items from one seller, they're grouped into a single order with one delivery fee for the whole trip, and your confirmation lists every item. You'll get updates for the order as a whole.

If a seller can't include an item

Once in a while, a seller might not be able to include one of your items. If that happens, we'll tell you right away, and the hold on anything you won't receive is released with no fee (it's never captured). From there, the choice is yours:

  • Keep the rest - We'll go ahead with the items the seller can include, and you'll only pay for those.

  • Cancel the whole order - Prefer all of it or nothing? Cancel and we release the entire hold.

Either way, you're never charged for an item you don't get.

> You only pay for what you receive. If a seller cannot include an item, we tell you right away and release the hold on it with no fee. Keep the rest or cancel the whole order, your call.

Tracking Your Order

Delivery Orders

You'll receive email and in-app updates as your delivery progresses. Notifications include:

  • "Your item has been picked up" when the courier collects your item

  • "Courier is on the way" when they're heading to you

  • "Your item has been delivered" when delivery is complete

If your order has more than one item, everything travels together as one delivery, so these updates cover the whole order.

In-Person Pickup

After you meet the seller and receive your item, you'll confirm receipt in your order details. This releases payment to the seller.
