What to Expect After Checkout

What happens after you purchase an item with courier delivery

Written by Austin Headley

What Happens After You Pay

Once you complete your purchase with courier delivery, here's what to expect. We automatically book the most affordable courier route for your order, so you don't have to pick a delivery option. The fee and an estimated delivery time are shown at checkout before you pay.

Your Item Gets Prepared

The seller is notified immediately. On their transaction page, they'll tap Create Shipment to generate the label, then package your item and attach it.

A Courier Picks Up

For most orders, a courier collects your item from the seller the next business day, between 9am and 3pm. The seller doesn't need to do anything extra. The pickup happens automatically in that window once the shipment is created.

When Your Item Arrives

Most items are delivered the same day they're picked up, so you'll usually have your order the next business day. Some short, nearby Toronto routes deliver the next day instead. Either way, the estimated timing is shown at checkout. Couriers operate between 8am and 8pm.

Staying in the Loop

You'll receive notifications at each stage of the delivery process:

Courier picks up. You'll know when the courier collects your item from the seller.

On the way. Another notification when the courier is heading to you.

Live tracking. Follow the courier's progress in real-time as they approach.

Delivered. Confirmation when your item arrives.

Tips for Smooth Delivery

Be available: Make sure someone can receive the item.

Clear access: Ensure the courier can easily reach your door.

Add notes: Use the delivery instructions field for helpful details like:

  • "Ring doorbell twice"

  • "Leave at side door"

  • "Apartment buzzer code: 123"

Weather and Delays

Bad weather occasionally affects deliveries. If this happens:

  • We'll notify you as soon as possible

  • Your payment protection remains in place

Your item will get to you, even if it takes a little longer than planned.
